The partners of D&D Decorators pledge to
provide and maintain a working environment
for employees that is, in so far as is
practicable safe and without risks to
health. The partners fully accept their
responsibilities under the Health and Safety
at Work Act 1974.
Being acutely aware of the importance of
health and safety, especially when operating
within the building and construction
industry the partnership in 2003 entered
into a contract with Professional Health and
Safety Services who will provide full health
and safety cover and support on an ongoing
basis.
The cover provided includes:
Control and updating of Safety Policy
Documentation as required under section 3 of
the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Act as the "Competent Person" responsible
for providing advice on matters relating to
Health and Safety as required under
regulation 7 of the management of Health and
Safety at work regulations 1999.
Assist in complying with the Control of
Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations
1999 (COSHH). To ensure proper protection to
all employees the Firm is required to make
assessments covering a wide range of
substances which could have an adverse
effect on health. Copies of these
assessments together with advice and
instructions are issued to the employees in
the form of COSHH sheets.
Assist in evaluating job risk assessments
as required under Section 3 of the
Management of Health and Safety at Work
Regulations 1999. The partners are fully
conversant with and realise the significance
of method statements and risk assessments.
Where there are potential risks to health
the documents are prepared for all tasks and
the information is made available prior to
work commencing.
Will give advice and assistance on all
matters relating to health and safety
including accident investigation and
training requirements.
Will inspect the Firm's on site practices
in order to confirm that they are in
accordance with current regulations. On
conclusion of their safety inspections the
partners are provided with a written report
which includes all htmlects of our own work
but will also embrace the safety of the site
in general.
